The First Annual Deepwood Ascension Festival and Golden Arrow Tourney

Evil abounds in the Deepwoods of Akron, as creatures from the Wastes find their way through the Forgolonian Wall to raid and pillage the villages of Akron.

This evil is held at bay through the courageous efforts of Akron's Deepwood Rangers, who dedicate their lives to protecting the people and forests of Akron.

These valiant Rangers work tirelessly to rid the forests of evil bandits and wastelings.

Upon victory over the bandits, the Rangers celebrated with the Deepwood Ascension Festival. The families of Akron once again were safe!

An archery contest drew the finest archers from the surrounding kingdoms.

And a Grand Melee was held to determine the fiercest warrior of them all.

Local nobility donated a vast treasure of amazing prizes to be awarded, honoring the Rangers for their efforts.

There was food and fun to be had all around, and we are hoping that the Deepwoods Acension Festival will become an annual Akron event.

Garb Party Details

For Saturday's Garb Party (2 pm, Royal Oak Church of Christ, Luckett Room), up to a size XL (the size Jack is wearing) you will need a minimum of 1 yard of each color (red and black) in 54" wide fabric for a total of two yards of fabric, OR 1.5 yards of each color in 44" wide fabric for a total of three yards of fabric. If you are broad shouldered, would like extra length, or believe you may need extra room, please increase the amount that you purchase. A safe amount to purchase would be 2 yards of each color. If you would like the surcoat to be lined, you will need to purchase an equal amount of whatever lining material you choose. If you are not sure what to purchase or have questions, please message me or comment.

Duck cloth (durable) or linen (comfortable) would be a good fabric for this, but more affordable options can be found in broadcloth or other cotton solids. I recommend that you wash and dry your material before Saturday, to avoid any shrinkage issues in the finished product.

We are also going to make the garb party a potluck, to save us from going out for food at dinnertime, so please bring something to share if you are so inclined. (It will be Pie Day, after all.)

You will have the option of getting the Akron Dragon embroidered on your surcoat. Due to the added expense of thread and stabilizer for the embroidery, we will be asking everyone to contribute $2 to help absorb that expense.

Remember that the Open Assembly Meeting will be held at 1 pm and is open to all members of Akron. This is a formal meeting and as usual, garb will be required for the meeting ONLY. Garb is not required for the Garb Party.
